How to Make a Craft Themed Easter Basket

This craft themed Easter is the cutest! It’s going to make my little girl’s day. 🙂

I love buying art supplies for my daughter. We’re a family of artists, and it helps for her to have some of her own supplies to experiment with: sketchbooks to fill up with drawings, watercolor crayons to smear all over the easel paper, and bright markers to create bold drawings. So it felt fitting to create a craft themed Easter basket that’s full of creative goodness! I kind of wish I had made one for myself, but hopefully she’ll share. 😉

This particular Easter basket was mainly sourced from Target’s One Spot. It was one of those days when the stars aligned because it felt like every other item on their shelves was perfect for this basket. (Okay, admittedly, the “stars align” quite frequently for me at Target, but I digress.) And though this basket is definitely for a little girl, you could swap out the supplies for your creative genius little boy. I’ll share how I made her Easter basket below as well as give you ideas for creating your own.

How to Make a Craft Themed Easter Basket

Step One: Gather a few supplies that will function as the theme. These will often be bigger items and will sit in the back of the basket. Here are a few ideas:

• Coloring books
• Sketchbooks
• How to Draw books (This is one of our favorites.)
• Craft kits for kids (I love the kindness theme of this one.)
• Shrink Art kit
• Any sort of creative play book or toy—puzzles, Legos, etc.

Step Two: Add in extras!

• Pens
• Colored pencils
• Markers
• Paint pens
• Gel pens
• Watercolor crayons (These are so smooth and lovely to play with! We’re big fans.)

I found a couple of small pots to plant flowers in; they come with a seed packet and are a perfect spring activity. Not exactly a craft, but my daughter will LOVE this.

Maybe you could toss in a little learning activity in the basket for your kid as well.

More craft-tastic ideas:

• Felt squares
• Perler beads
• Construction paper
• Glue sticks
• Paint
• Iron-on transfer kits

If you’re feeling brave, you can add the following:

• Chunky glitter (This glitter kit is so pretty!)
• Stickers
• Temporary tattoos

I’m not a big fan of giving my toddler candy which probably makes me a granola mom. So admittedly, these chocolates were bought for me. Don’t tell. We’ll tuck her favorite fruit leathers in her basket. (Yep, I’m that mom, haha)

However, you can feel free to add chocolates, Easter eggs, and whatever treats you’d like to your Easter basket. 🙂

Step Three: Put everything in the basket.

I found a bright pink bucket that will function as the “basket” part. We’ll use it to hold our art supplies afterwards. I like finding containers that are multi-purpose. 🙂

I seriously can’t wait to give this to her for Easter. We will definitely be making a lot of projects Easter afternoon which will be so much fun. 🙂
