This Was September - Looking back at the month of September at littlegirldesigns.com. Projects, what I'm reading, and a new resource that's coming out soon!

This Was September

I will not mention that this month went by way too fast. Oh, oops. Okay, now that I got that out of the way . . . I suppose this is the inevitable as life goes on. I’m on my way to being the little old lady who shakes her head every time she sees you and declares how time is flying by (and yes, I did just write, “declares.” It felt fitting. :))

September was an introspective month here on the blog. I decided to answer some common reader questions with several of my posts, and to be honest, the introspective tone stemmed from the fact that September feels like the start of the year for me. Most people celebrate the New Year in January, but for me, September and the start of the school year (even if that phase of my life is long over—cue the violins) will always feel like the beginning of new dreams and goals.

Anatomy of an eBook Launch - Have you ever wondered what the steps are to launch an eBook? I share what I did for my latest launch as well as the actual spreadsheet I used to track everything. @ jenniemoraitis.com

Writing – I wrote about my process for launching my Creative Retreat workbook here. I highly recommend creating a resource for your readers if you’re a blogger and shared some of the things I learned. For those of us who struggle with finding time to actually create, I wrote about consuming less in terms of media and learning (i.e. taking lots of classes instead of doing the thing.) And to the many readers who have mentioned in emails how they’ve struggled with their inner critic, I wrote a post on silencing that unhelpful “friend.”

How to Make Felt Food - a simple tutorial on how to make felt food for imaginary play. Tutorial includes cookies and bow-tie pasta. Super simple and a great way to use up felt scraps! @ jenniemoraitis.com

Making – We started the month off with making felt food, which has been a big hit around this house. One reader mentioned how she made a pie with felt, and I’ve got to try that. You guys are so inspiring! I also shared how to make encouragement stones and truth cards—two projects that are simple to make and are good for your soul. I also stumbled across this starry night tutorial on the Inkstruck Studio blog this month and had so much fun trying this technique. To all of my watercoloring friends out there, you’ve got to try this one!

ReadingAudacious by Beth Moore. I watched her simulcast at the beginning of September, and to say I was moved would be a sad understatement. She shared her life message—that of loving Jesus audaciously in each of our varied worlds. During one of the breaks, I ordered the book and read it in a weekend, stopping only to think and pray about the words I was reading. Lots to think about there!

Get this bundle of letter writing goodness! Stationery, tutorials, an address book, and more! Print out the stationery and get back into letter writing. Snail mail is the best!

Working – I’ve been working on a new resource for you that I think you’ll really like. Many of you love writing and sending good old-fashioned snail mail (or would like to make it more of a priority), so I created the The {10 Minute} Letter-writing Retreat Bundle, a 120 page guide that includes prompts, printable stationery, and tutorials.  The {10 Minute} Letter-writing Retreat comes out next week on October 7th, but you can pre-order it now here. Whoohoo! 🙂 (**Updated: You can order the bundle here at any time!)

Well, that’s about it for blog happenings for the month. Hope you all had a great September. On to beautiful October!
