Who doesn't love playing with glitter? These cards look like colorful confetti, and they're a simple craft to make. I made this craft with my kid, and she had so much fun!

Easy Glitter Cards

These glitter cards are So. Much. Fun. It helps that you start with chunky glitter that shimmers and shines and sparkles. We picked our vials up at Target’s One Spot. (Click here for an entire library of glitter from Target!)

I was going to make a pot of gold or something for St. Patrick’s Day but that morphed into these festive glitter cards. This is a fun project to do with kids because it’s so simple. They’ll have instant success.

Yes, it makes a mess. That’s what vacuums are for.

And maybe a couple of pieces of glitter will stick to your clothes, and you’ll go out to coffee with your friends and notice it on your pants. No matter. You’re an artist! 🙂

Make These Glitter Cards

You’ll need:

Plain white cards
Chunky glitter
Glue stick (with permanent glue)

You’ll want a more permanent glue (“archival” quality) so the glitter has a better chance of sticking and staying.

First, set up your work area. We put down pieces of copy paper under our cards for the extra glitter.

Use the glue stick to spread glue evenly over the entire front panel of the card.

Pour glitter onto the copy paper, and spread it around.

Place the card face down in the glitter and press to “soak up” the glitter. You can check your work, and continue to press the glitter on if you’d like more.

When you’re finished, gently tap the extra glitter off onto the copy paper. (You can also make the copy paper into a tube at the very end and pour all of the extra glitter back into the vial.)

These glitter cards were so much fun to make! They sparkle and shimmer and shine and are just plain pretty!

I wrote notes in mine and sent them in the mail to my mom and my sister. I figured if some of the glitter came off in the envelope, it will just make it more festive. 🙂
